Join a leading manufacturer specializing in seats and interior components for cars, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. The New Castle, IN facility focuses on seat manufacturing and assembly, employing around 600 people. We seek a qualified Assistant Chief Controls Engineer to support our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities- Maintain controls programs, hardware, and software.
- Independently lead software efforts for small development projects or initiatives.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and implement countermeasures for electrical issues.
- Ensure equipment compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate as a team member on engineering projects.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Resolve defects and change requests to enhance product quality and functionality.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with control systems.
- Ability to write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Keyence).
- Experience with Keyence and/or Cognex vision systems.
- Familiarity with Capex and capital equipment.
- Experience in programmable logic.
- Prior supervisory experience is an advantage.
- Experience with capital equipment, installation, and integration.
The New Castle, IN facility employs 597 people across 3 shifts, focusing on automotive seat manufacturing using mainly robotic welders. The facility is clean, quiet, and climate-controlled, with over 15 production lines. This is a first-shift position with core hours from 8 AM to 3 PM, with flexibility to start as early as 6:30 AM. Occasional weekend work may be required for large projects. Uniforms are provided.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Castle, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.87/hr.
