Job Title: Box Office staff
Reports to: Artistic Director
Status: Part time
Pensacola Little Theatre is seeking Box Office Staff to serve as the welcoming first impression at The Clark Family Cultural Center. The Box Office Staff lead all box office activity, general inquiries, and serve as the customer service representatives for The Center and its tenants over the phone, in-person, and through online communication.
The staff produce a well-rounded experience for patrons, volunteers, and tenants, requiring outstanding organizational and timely communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, accuracy in handling cash and credit card transactions, and the ability to collaborate with the needs of all Cultural Center leadership. The Box Office staff also lead the volunteer management system of PLT, keeping an efficient database and schedule for all volunteers at The Center.
The Box Office staff duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Create and maintain events in the organization’s ticketing software, Arts People, including production tickets, subscription packages, fundraisers and special events, and ticketing facilitated through The Center box office for clients and tenants
- Maintain regular box office hours to process phone, walk-up, mail, and online ticket orders
- Clearly communicate with patrons and the public, including updating phone messages, signage within the building, targeted email communication, and event website information
- Act as staff-on-duty during performances and pre-scheduled events at The Center
- Open the box office one-hour prior to performances to print will-call tickets, process any phone orders, online orders, and walk-up sales, which remains open through curtain
- Prepare appropriate sales reports and deposits at conclusion of box office hours
- Responsible for training and delegating tasks to box office volunteers, ushers, house managers, bar staff, and security personnel, as needed
- Provide tours of The Center areas to groups as well as drop in patrons.
- Assist with set-up, execution, and strike of fundraising events at The Center
- Assist PLT staff in additional duties: communicating with vendors, retrieving items and materials for The Center, room set up, donor outreach, volunteer coordination, and more.
Regular Box Office hours are Tuesday – Friday, 12-5pm and one-hour prior to all performances through the closing of the production, including evenings, weekends, matinees, and school performances. The Box Office staff may utilize additional time as needed to perform duties outside of Box Office hours.
