Lab Assistant - Lab - Full-Time - Days

Job Description

• PURPOSE OF JOB :
  
  

Handles receipt and distribution of all laboratory specimens

Assists with the operation and performs point of care testing at the off site testing locations

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  
  

10% 1. Performs point of care testing and assists with operations at off site laboratory locations.

80% 2. Follows procedures for the proper evaluation and disposition of laboratory specimens as stated in the Specimen Collection Manual and reference laboratory manuals.

5% 3. Interacts/communicates with all patients, physicians and coworkers in a collaborative manner.

5% 4. Promotes patient safety by compliance with Organizational/Departmental policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent
  
  

B. Experience: health care experience preferred, but not required
