Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS :
- PURPOSE OF JOB : Perform duties related to Linen department, including, receiving of linen papers, inventory of linen, control and distribution of linen to all areas of the hospital.
- To distribute packages and supplies to designated locations in the organization. Use the Ipod scanner for scanning of non-Po deliveries.
- Maintains adequate inventories of linen on exchange
- Assists linen coordinator with linen inventory maintenance.
- Completes related paperwork for data processing.
- Delivers materials to clinical, ancillary and support departments throughout the hospital as needed and directed. Able to learn and use the IPod scanners for non-po's deliveries.
- Stocking and Organizing Inventory on Shelving. F ollowing FIFO process with supplies, checking for errors of mis-picks, damaged product and expired products, report to receivers and inventory analysts.
- Helping receivers unload, unpack and deliver large orders.
- Maintains adequate inventories of linen on exchange
- Works closely with Central Supply manager and Linen Coordinator to insure that linen levels are appropriate for patient volume and level of care.
- Coordinates supply and distribution of linens for all areas of hospital.
- Assists manager and linen coordinator with linen inventory maintenance.
- Develops excellent working knowledge of Meditech materials management module, accurately recording and interpreting information entered into or displayed by the system.
- Assists manager/linen coordinator in investigating linen discrepancies in the system.
- Package/Product Delivery
- Delivers materials and packages to correct location as indicated.
- Obtains proper signature from person receiving the package in the department using purchase orders or Ipod scanner.
- Answers telephone calls and beeper pages promptly, taking messages or following through to satisfy request, according to departmental procedures.
- Completes related paperwork for data processing.
- Competent with the Meditech materials management module.
- Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures as outlines in the Associate Handbook, including dress code, safety and infection control.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional education desirable. Science and math courses helpful. Basic typing necessary.
- Experience: Previous experience in hospital helpful.
- Other Skills: Versatility, willingness to rotate to various jobs and shifts.
