Position Summary
The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the organization’s health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental permits, and company standards. Position Summary
The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the organization’s health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental permits, and company standards. This role actively manages environmental permitting and reporting, promotes a safe and environmentally responsible workplace, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Health & Safety
- Coordinate and maintain workplace health and safety programs in compliance with OSHA and applicable state regulations. - Conduct routine safety inspections, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments. - Assist with incident, injury, and near-miss investigations and perform root cause analysis. - Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301) and required safety documentation. - Coordinate safety training programs and emergency preparedness activities. - Promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
- Manage environmental permits including air, water, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste permits. - Track permit conditions, monitoring requirements, reporting deadlines, and renewals. - Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies. - Serve as the primary contact with regulatory agencies for environmental matters. - Maintain environmental compliance records and support environmental audits. - Coordinate spill prevention, waste management, and pollution prevention programs.
- Support internal and external audits including regulatory inspections and ISO standards. - Track and report HSE performance metrics and trends. - Assist with management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 2–5 years of experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing or regulated environment. - Demonstrated experience managing environmental permits and compliance reporting. - Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations. - Effective communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification. - Environmental compliance training (RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP). - First Aid / CPR / AED. - ASP, CSP, or CHMM certification.
