Facility: Maximum Security Correctional Facility (Under CNYPC Supervision)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly disciplined and professional Registered Nurse to join our team within a New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) unit. Located within a maximum-security correctional facility and supervised by the Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC), this role is critical for the safety and stabilization of incarcerated individuals.
You will be responsible for complex medication management and psychiatric nursing care across various units, including the Therapeutic Behavioral Unit (TBU) and Residential Crisis Treatment Programs (RCTP).
Key Responsibilities
Medication Management: Administer and document medications for diverse populations, including RCTP (OB/Dorm), Long-Term Care, Infirmary, TBU, and General Population.
Clinical Processing: Input MD orders into CNET, print and update MARs, and conduct 2nd-nurse verifications for accuracy.
Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients brought to the satellite unit and manage admissions to the RCTP, including all required clinical documentation.
Security & Accountability: Conduct strict control/tool counts and stock medication audits in coordination with a second nurse.
Reporting: Facilitate comprehensive verbal shift reports and maintain detailed nursing progress notes for RCTP patients.
Requirements & Qualifications
Licensure: Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license and current registration.
Compliance: Must provide proof of TB testing and a recent flu shot.
Security Clearance: Successful completion of a comprehensive background check is required.
Mandatory Training: Candidates must attend and pass both CNYPC Orientation and Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) Orientation.
Shift & Schedule Information
Hours: Variable to accommodate the high-needs environment of the unit.
Weekends/Holidays: Every other weekend and holiday coverage may be required to ensure essential staffing levels.
Overtime: Offered on a limited basis to ensure unit coverage.
