Facility Overview:

Finger Lakes Residential Center (FLRC) is a juvenile correctional facility accredited by the American Correctional Association. Located seven miles north of Ithaca, FLRC serves male juvenile offenders who may remain in OCFS custody until age 21. The facility currently houses approximately 60 youth.

Position Summary:

The RN will provide nursing interventions and medication administration using a systematic, problem-solving approach to deliver comprehensive nursing care in compliance with regulatory standards. This role is critical to supporting the health and well-being of youth in a secure setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain general medical inventory, including controlled substances.
• Conduct medication administration and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Review and evaluate youth health conditions and nursing intervention plans.
• Ensure interventions align with comprehensive treatment plans.
• Prepare required clinical and administrative reports.
• Maintain infection control standards throughout the facility.
• Participate in staff training sessions and serve as a member of the medical treatment team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Additional duties will be discussed during the interview.

Qualifications:

• Current New York State RN license and registration in good standing.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently in a secure environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check.
• Legal right to work in the U.S.
