Part-Time After School Behavior Therapist (West Newton)
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children?! Come join our team at Peirce Extended Day Program in West Newton! We're seeking one creative, compassionate, and enthusiastic candidate to join our team. This position begins August 2026, and goes through June 2027.
PEDP is an after school enrichment program offering a variety of activities (arts & crafts, sports, games, cooking, music, theater, STEM, field trips, etc.) to children in grades K-5.
The current open position is in our 4th and 5 th grade group as a one-on-one student support specialist for a student on the spectrum.
APPLICANTS MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH NEURODIVERGENT CHILDREN IN GRADES K-5

Daily Schedule:
- Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 2:30 – 6:00 pm AND Wednesdays 12:00 – 6:00 pm
- 20 hours per week
Compensation: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour depending on education and/or experience
Qualifications (not intended to be comprehensive):
- An acceptable review of Criminal Background Record Check (including fingerprinting), Department of Social Services Background Record Check
- Desire to work with children and families
- Ability to deal effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Ability to walk distances required for field trips
- Ability to be on your feet for 45-60 minutes during activity times with the children
- Ability to be outside for 30-45 minutes per day determined by the PEDP weather policy
