PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Software Tech Lead & Architect on a Contract-to-Hire basis. This role is based out of Loveland, CO. Full benefits are offered during the contract period prior to converting full-time.
Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Software Technical Lead and Architect to join an agile engineering team developing highly integrated and performance-sensitive software systems. This role will blend technical leadership, architecture, and hands-on engineering, with a focus on scalable distributed systems, performance optimization, and cross-platform development. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in systems architecture, software performance, and mentoring engineering teams while remaining actively involved in development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable, high-performance software systems in an agile environment.
- Drive technical decisions related to distributed systems, concurrency, multi-threading, memory efficiency, and system scalability.
- Contribute directly to software development efforts, particularly within performance-critical or technically complex components.
- Design and support externally consumed SDKs, APIs, and secure integration strategies that provide ease of use for downstream developers.
- Guide cross-platform software development efforts across Windows, Linux, embedded, mobile, and cloud-connected systems.
- Lead efforts involving networking, distributed client/server systems, device integrations, and complex data flows.
- Mentor software engineers in architecture, debugging, performance optimization, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to technical innovation initiatives.
Required Skills
- 15 years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in software architecture, systems engineering, or technical leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with C#, C , and system-level programming in complex software environments.
- Deep experience with multi-threaded systems, concurrent architectures, distributed systems, and performance optimization.
- Experience developing across Windows, Linux, mobile, embedded, or cross-platform environments.
- Strong understanding of networking, client/server architectures, APIs, SDK development, and distributed data flows.
- Experience with Azure cloud environments and scalable systems design.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, debugging, and root-cause problem-solving skills.
- Experience within healthcare, medical device, IoT, embedded, or performance-sensitive environments preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
