PeerSource is currently recruiting for a SDET Automation Engineer on a Contract-to-Hire basis for our client in Loveland, CO. Full benefits are offered during the brief 6-month contract period prior to converting full-time.
Summary
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) focused on automation to support multiple agile development teams. This role is responsible for designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks while driving the transition from manual to automated testing. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure high-quality software delivery and continuous improvement across testing practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and solutions across multiple agile teams
- Define and implement automation strategies, including identifying test cases suitable for automation
- Partner with developers, product owners, and QA teams to integrate testing throughout the development lifecycle
- Lead efforts to transition manual testing processes into automated workflows
- Provide effort estimates and planning input for automation initiatives
- Develop and maintain dashboards and metrics (e.g., via Azure DevOps) to track testing effectiveness and progress
- Coordinate automation testing efforts across concurrent projects, ensuring coverage of risks and dependencies
- Promote best practices in continuous testing and quality engineering within a SAFe environment
- Drive ongoing improvements in testing efficiency, quality, and delivery timelines
Required Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in software testing, including both manual and automation testing
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, along with BDD tools like Cucumber and mobile testing tools such as Appium
- Experience implementing test automation within CI/CD or DevOps environments
- Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and agile development methodologies
- Strong ability to analyze technical requirements and identify testing risks and coverage gaps
- Proven ability to deliver automation solutions across multiple teams and projects simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent)
- Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, diagnostics, or similar industries is a plus. Experience testing IoT products is also a plus.
