Primary Purpose
Assist in the efficient operation of the district's employee benefits program by managing benefit payroll deduction changes, employee qualifying life events, workers' compensation claims, and benefit enrollment data. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain accurate, timely benefit and payroll processing.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of employee benefits administration, payroll deductions, and applicable laws
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Ability to process premium deposits, journal entries, and benefit payroll deduction registers
Ability to effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service to employees
Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and HR/benefit enrollment systems
Ability to multitask, take initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in employee benefits, payroll, or related HR work
Working Conditions
Mental Demands
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
May work prolonged or irregular hours
Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse. Occasional reaching
