Position Summary
The Peer Recovery Specialist uses lived experience in recovery to serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator for individuals working toward sustained recovery. This position supports PEARL's expanded peer workforce and works across PEARL's programs and community partnerships to help individuals prevent return to use and build long-term recovery.
Responsibilities
Develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships grounded in shared lived experience. Assist individuals with linkages to social services and primary care. Provide peer support through PEARL's partnerships, including Benton County Specialty Courts/Mental Health Court, Returning Home's Washington County Community Rebuilding Initiative, and walk-ins or referrals from other community partners. Maintain accurate documentation. Represent PEARL professionally in community settings. Participate in required meetings, trainings, and organizational events.
Qualifications
Personal lived experience in recovery from substance use disorder (required). Minimum 2 years of sustained recovery. High school diploma or GED. Ability to share personal recovery story in a professional and supportive context. Must meet minimum qualifications and commit to obtaining Arkansas Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) certification. Willingness to travel for conferences and statewide events. Reliable transportation. Must pass a background check and drug screening consistent with organizational policy. Reports to the Programs Manager.
Compensation
$17/hour | Full-time | Benefits include:
