Major Duties
- Serve as team lead in support of the Acquisitions Manager and the Asset Management Office, coordinating asset management activities across the agency.
- Collaborate with agency program areas including Purchasing, Accounting, and Statewide Property Management to ensure efficient execution of asset management functions.
- Coordinate, train, and provide technical guidance to statewide inventory coordinators and AMO staff on asset management processes and best practices.
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) for external program areas, offering support and guidance on asset management policies and procedures.
- Ensure agency compliance with the Comptroller of Public Accounts policies, procedures, and reporting requirements related to property management.
- Prepare, review, and analyze special reports, program key measures, and inventory data to support system updates and maintain data integrity.
- Perform asset management functions including asset tracking, tagging, inventory control, and maintenance of asset records in the appropriate systems.
- Review and provide guidance on purchase requisitions for asset-related purchases in CAPPS workflow, ensuring accurate asset coding and compliance.
- Educate and advise asset custodians on their roles, responsibilities, and best practices in asset care and custodianship.
- Assist in program analysis and make recommendations to management for procedural or policy improvements to enhance efficiency or ensure legislative compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, files, and documentation for the asset management program.
- Work under moderate supervision, exercising limited latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
- Experience in asset management, property administration, or related field.
- Knowledge of state property management regulations and CAPPS (Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System) preferred.
- Strong coordination, communication, and training skills.
- Proficiency in data reporting, recordkeeping, and program compliance management.
- Ability to analyze processes and recommend procedural improvement.
- Rate: $28.00/hour
- Length of Engagement: 12 months
- Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
- Location: Austin, TX
