Peak Exotic Animal Veterinary Specialists (PEAVS) is looking for a Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our list of relief employees at our hospital in beautiful Littleton, Colorado. This new, updated hospital is privately co-owned by two Board-certified Zoological Companion Animal veterinarians. The vision of the hospital is to provide gold-standard medical care to our extraordinary patients and clients, and to continue to be leaders at the cutting edge of exotic animal medicine. We aim to have an inclusive and collaborative environment where our team members and relief staff can grow and develop their skills and knowledge base. We also collaborate with external veterinary colleagues often through referrals, consultations, and wet labs. Job Details
As the first point of contact, the Client Service Representative helps set the tone for all client interactions at PEAVS. The CSR helps build trust, reliability, and confidence in the abilities of the team and ensures a smooth, positive experience for clients and their pets. We rely on our CSRs to keep the flow of the hospital moving smoothly and be our best foot forward!
Job type: Part-time (as-needed) Relief
Qualifications:
- Legal authorization to work in the United States by the date of hire. We cannot sponsor work visas at this time.
- At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical record software
Skills and Competencies:
- Must practice compassion, empathy, and gold-standard care for all patients and owners
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, while also being able to work independently without direct guidance
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working with emotional situations involving sick or injured animals
- Understand and follow the practice’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC)

Key Responsibilities:
Client Interaction
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism.
- Answer phones promptly and direct calls or take accurate messages.
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, and follow-ups using practice management software.
- Provide general information regarding services, pricing, and hospital policies.
- Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation.
Communication & Service
- Educate clients on hospital services, wellness plans, and routine care.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about their pets' needs.
- Follow up with clients regarding appointment reminders, lab results, and patient updates.
- Address client questions, concerns, or complaints, escalating as needed.
- Ability to recognize emergency situations and appropriately alert medical personnel
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate client and patient records.
- Process invoices, payments, and refunds.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and welcoming reception area, exam rooms, and restrooms.
Team Support
- Coordinate with veterinary technicians and doctors to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Assist with light clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and inventory support.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Intermittent seated/standing positions
- May require evening or weekend shifts
- Involves interactions with distressed clients or emergency cases
Schedule:
- Relief shifts will be scheduled on an as-needed basis based on the clinic’s needs.
- Shifts will be 8AM – 6PM (Sunday – Friday)
Salary:
- $16 - $20/hour, dependent on experience
