This position oversees all quality assurance activities for plastic compounding, ensuring all manufactured products meet customer requirements and ISO standards.
Key responsibilities
- Quality Management System (QMS): Implement and maintain the company's QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 (and optionally IATF 16949) standards. Lead internal and external audits and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Customer and Supplier Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for customer quality issues and complaints. Work with the supply chain to qualify vendors and manage the quality of incoming raw materials.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data collection, analysis, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Documentation: Develop, review, and approve controlled documents, including quality manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and inspection plans.
- Training: Provide training to staff on quality procedures, ISO requirements, and proper use of inspection equipment.
- Compounding Process: Track products through the manufacturing process to verify that each stage, including the measurement, mixing, and blending of polymers and additives, is correct.
Quality Control Technician/Inspector (Plastics Compounding)This hands-on role is responsible for the inspection and testing of raw materials and finished compounded products. Key responsibilities
- Inspections and Testing: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of compounded pellets and finished products. Use scales, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement equipment to verify product specifications.
- Process Monitoring: Assist in monitoring compounding processes to identify and report quality issues or trends.
- Documentation: Accurately record inspection and test data, including weights, temperatures, and test results. Document any non-conforming materials and coordinate with the quality team.
- Calibration: Assist with the regular calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures, good housekeeping standards, and quality policies.
