Overview
The Venue Cleaning Associate is responsible for the comprehensive cleaning, sanitation, organization, and presentation of Peachtree Catering & Events’ large event venues. This position may be assigned to Pomme, Parque, Portico, The Willows, or a combination of venues based on the company’s cleaning schedule and business needs.
This is a commercial cleaning position involving expansive event spaces, restrooms, kitchens and service areas, offices, wedding suites, windows, floors, furniture, storage areas, and indoor and outdoor guest areas. Responsibilities include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, cleaning mirrors and windows, laundering venue linens and other washable items, removing trash, and maintaining orderly storage and service areas.
The Venue Cleaning Associate is also responsible for identifying and promptly reporting maintenance concerns, damage, missing supplies, or other conditions that may affect the safety, cleanliness, functionality, or presentation of a venue.
This position generally works on weekdays, particularly following events and in preparation for upcoming events, tours, and client visits. Occasional weekend or evening availability may be required based on the event calendar and venue needs. The Venue Cleaning Associate must be dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while following written and verbal instructions, cleaning schedules, and checklists.
Responsibilities
Venue Cleaning and Sanitation
- Clean and maintain assigned venue spaces according to established cleaning schedules, checklists, and presentation standards.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, stairs, and other surfaces.
- Sweep and mop floors throughout event spaces, entryways, kitchens, restrooms, offices, and service areas.
- Dust furniture, shelving, fixtures, baseboards, ledges, décor, and other surfaces.
- Clean mirrors, interior windows, glass doors, windowsills, and other glass surfaces.
- Remove scuffs, fingerprints, cobwebs, dirt, and other visible marks throughout the venue.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, floors, fixtures, and dispensers.
- Restock toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other restroom supplies.
- Clean catering preparation areas, breakrooms, offices, wedding suites, lounges, and other assigned spaces.
- Clean venue furniture, including tables, chairs, sofas, cushions, and outdoor furniture.
- Empty trash and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Inspect entrances, patios, walkways, and areas immediately surrounding the venue and remove visible trash or debris.
- Complete periodic deep-cleaning projects as assigned.
Laundry and Linen Care
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and properly store venue linens and other washable items.
- Follow care instructions and use appropriate washing and drying settings for each item.
- Treat stains when appropriate and report items that are permanently stained, damaged, or in need of replacement.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of laundry and linen storage areas.
- Monitor laundry and cleaning supplies and notify management when inventory is running low.
- Ensure clean linens and other venue items are prepared and available for upcoming events, tours, and business needs.
Venue Readiness and Organization
- Prepare assigned venues for upcoming events, tours, meetings, and client visits by ensuring all spaces are clean, orderly, and presentable.
- Follow venue-specific cleaning and reset checklists and complete assignments within established timeframes.
- Keep janitorial closets, storage areas, laundry rooms, and housekeeping supplies clean, organized, and safely stored.
- Return furniture, cleaning supplies, and venue items to their designated locations after completing work.
- Confirm that assigned areas are fully cleaned and reset before leaving the venue.
- Support the Facilities and Operations teams with light venue-reset tasks when assigned.
Safety, Supplies, and Maintenance Reporting
- Use cleaning products, laundry equipment, and other tools safely and according to company instructions.
- Follow product labels and company procedures for chemical use, storage, and disposal.
- Use appropriate warning signs and safety precautions when cleaning wet floors or guest-accessible areas.
- Promptly report spills, leaks, broken fixtures, damaged furniture, pest concerns, lighting issues, safety hazards, and other maintenance needs.
- Report lost, misplaced, or damaged property to management.
- Notify management of supply shortages, equipment malfunctions, or conditions that prevent completion of assigned work.
- Follow all company safety, security, and venue-access procedures.
- Secure the venue as directed, including turning off lights, closing windows, and locking doors when assigned responsibility for closing the building.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial cleaning, janitorial, venue, hospitality, or similar experience is preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, cleaning schedules, and detailed checklists.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned responsibilities within established timeframes.
- Ability to safely use vacuums, mops, laundry machines, cleaning products, and other commercial cleaning equipment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and move efficiently between multiple areas of a large venue.
- Professional, positive communication with colleagues, clients, vendors, and venue visitors.
- Ability to handle cleaning products and follow required safety precautions.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to report to different venue locations as scheduled.
- Weekday availability is required. Occasional weekend or evening availability may be required based on events and business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform continuous physical cleaning throughout large, multi-room and multi-level event venues.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to move cleaning equipment, trash containers, laundry, supplies, and lightweight venue furniture.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor areas and in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Work Schedule and Location
The Venue Cleaning Associate generally works weekdays, with scheduling based on completed events, upcoming events, tours, and venue needs. The position may be assigned to one primary venue or scheduled across multiple Peachtree locations, including Pomme, Parque, Portico, and The Willows. Work hours and assigned locations may vary from week to week. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
