Role Description
Peace Valley Charter School is seeking a dedicated SPED (Special Education) Teacher for a part-time, hybrid role. The position involves working with students in Boise, ID while allowing for some work-from-home flexibility. Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting lessons to meet students' varying abilities and needs, delivering instruction in both academic and developmental areas, and collaborating closely with parents, teachers, and support staff to monitor students' progress. The SPED Teacher will also participate in training sessions, ensure compliance with state and federal special education guidelines, and foster an inclusive learning environment within the school's holistic framework.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and developing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Strong background in Education, with knowledge of special education best practices and techniques.
- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with parents, colleagues, and students, as well as to provide clear instructions.
- Experience with Teaching and implementing differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Ability to provide Training and guidance for paraprofessionals or support staff working with students.
- Current teaching certification in Special Education or related field, with endorsements preferred.
- Commitment to child-centered education and familiarity with Waldorf methods is highly desirable.
- Flexibility and the ability to balance in-person and remote work in a hybrid role.
