If you’re experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, we want to hear from you!About the RoleAs an Operating Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building mechanical systems and related automation. Your work ensures that critical environments run smoothly, systems stay compliant, and the facility operates at peak performance.You’ll play a hands-on role in optimizing system reliability, implementing proactive maintenance practices, and supporting the ongoing enhancement of our client’s facilities.What You’ll DoOperate and maintain essential building systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, temperature controls, and critical environments.Respond to and resolve system alarms, including O₂ and CO₂ sensors, through expert troubleshooting and corrective action.Conduct routine building rounds and maintain detailed engineering logs and reports.Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment, drives, and actuators using BAS tools and manufacturer guidelines.Perform maintenance on steam systems, humidifiers, and steam traps.Utilize CMMS software for maintenance planning, tracking, and documentation.Support and oversee contractor activities within the facility.Respond promptly to facility emergencies (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).Develop cost estimates and assist with maintenance proposals.Maintain infrastructure documentation and compliance records.Collaborate across disciplines to achieve facility goals safely and efficiently.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED2nd Class Fireman’s License (Massachusetts)Minimum 1 year of facility or building systems experienceExperience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS softwareAbility to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and drawingsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, roofs, and confined spaces as neededWillingness to use respirator or PAPR (respiratory protection program)Availability for after-hours emergency responsePreferred QualificationsExperience with Reliability-Centered Maintenance practicesFamiliarity with regulatory compliance and documentationCustomer service and/or leadership experienceHands-on experience in critical environmentsStrong skills in spare parts inventory managementExperience managing contractors and vendor workStrong attention to detail in documentation and safety practicesTake the next step in your maintenance career—join a company that values your technical expertise and commitment to excellence.
