Facilities Technician – Door Systems & Access Control SpecialistLocation: Devens, MAPay Rate: 30–34.02/hourSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)About the RolePDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician with a focus on door systems and access control to join our IFM team at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Devens, MA. This roughly 1 million sq. ft. campus includes Labs, Offices, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Critical Utility Buildings, and supporting structures.You will support operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems. While the primary focus is on door and access-related hardware, the role also involves general maintenance duties across the facility.Key ResponsibilitiesDoor Systems & Access Control:Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of doors, including:Dock levelers/dock locksExterior sliding gatesMotor-operated roll-up doorsInterlocking man doorsStorefront glass entrance doorsCommercial man doorsHollow metal doors with low-energy operators (Knowing Act/Automatic Doors)Rolling steel fire doors (utilities)Airwalls (OCC Partition Doors)High-speed roll-up doorsRepair and maintain all door types as requestedInstall, configure, and maintain electronic access control components (proximity sensors, mag locks, e-strike/latch, key access)Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning door hardware and access control devicesMaintain locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, furniture, and controllersApply knowledge of automatic and manual door systems in a cleanroom environmentUnderstand use of controls, interlocks, and door sweeps to maintain cascading pressurizationProvide preventative maintenance (PM) services, repairs, and testing as scheduledAdhere to client SOPs for Clean Door Preventative MaintenanceGeneral Facility Maintenance:Interior maintenance: hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniturePatch and paint repairsMinor plumbing repairsMaintain lighting system bulbs and ballastsComplete special tasks: painting, locksmith work, other client/tenant servicesMove office furniture, machinery, equipment, and materials as requestedPerform facility inspections and report conditions affecting occupancy or operationsMaintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with all safety procedures and hazardous material policiesParticipate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational trainingDocument work performance, materials procurement, and service tasksCommunicate with management and Facility Services Manager regarding project timelines, workload, and issuesMaintain tools, equipment, parts, and supplies in clean and safe conditionMonitor work quality and pricing of outside contractorsPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills & ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalentAbility to analyze operation of door/gate systems, identify malfunctions, and perform corrective actionFamiliarity with door brands: Stanley, Dormakaba, Tormax, Chase, ASI, Schlage, or similarWillingness to work in a multi-skilled team environmentRegular and consistent attendance and punctualityWorking knowledge of computer applications: Gmail, Google Docs, Word, ExcelAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAvailability for overtime and call-in work as requiredPreferred / Desired Skills & ExperienceKnowledge of GMP proceduresPrevious work experience in lab or manufacturing environment, cGMP experience preferredAAADM certification for automatic door installation, inspection, and maintenanceWork ScheduleMonday–Friday8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)Why Join UsThis is an opportunity to be part of a professional, high-performing team supporting a world-class pharmaceutical facility.
