Schedule: Monday to Friday; First shift 8AM- 5PM
Pay Rate: $85.00 to $100.00 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Senior Radiation Effects Engineer to support our partnership with a leader in the aerospace industry. This is a highly technical, senior level consulting role focused on space survivability and radiation effects—an opportunity to contribute directly to the success, safety, and reliability of next generation satellite programs.

Role Summary
In this role you will serve as a key technical contributor responsible for analyzing radiation effects, driving survivability strategies, and supporting design decisions across all satellite program phases. Your work will directly influence system reliability, performance, and compliance with government and environmental requirements.
What You’ll Do
14 years of experience in space environments and radiation effects
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Pay Details: $85.00 to $100.00 per hour

What You’ll Do
- Serve as a subject matter expert in nuclear radiation hardness across multiple space programs
- Interface with program offices and system engineering disciplines to ensure radiation requirements are fully incorporated into designs
- Evaluate and address radiation related effects including total dose, displacement damage, ELDRS, single event effects, internal charging, IEMP, SGEMP, and TREE
- Perform and document unit and vehicle level radiation analyses
- Plan, coordinate, and execute radiation testing at piece part, unit, and vehicle levels
- Partner with radiation test facilities nationwide, securing test time and representing program needs
- Support design verification and compliance reviews through data analysis and technical reporting
- Contribute technical expertise during all phases of satellite system development
14 years of experience in space environments and radiation effects
- Extensive experience with radiation testing including:
- Dose rate testing
- Total ionizing dose (TID) testing
- Displacement damage testing
- Single event effects (SEE) testing
- Experience conducting prompt dose analyses of electronic units
- Experience supporting government programs with nuclear effects requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 14 years’ experience OR
