About the Role:
The Medical Assistant - Floater plays a critical role in supporting multiple clinical locations by providing flexible, high-quality patient care and administrative assistance. This position requires adaptability to work across various departments and clinics, ensuring seamless patient flow and efficient healthcare delivery. The Medical Assistant will perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting healthcare providers with procedures. Additionally, the role involves administrative duties including updating patient records, scheduling appointments, and managing communications. Ultimately, this position ensures that all assigned locations maintain a high standard of patient care and operational efficiency through versatile support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in multiple clinical specialties or locations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Additional certifications such as phlebotomy or EKG technician credentials.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical support by taking patient histories, measuring vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Assist healthcare providers during medical procedures and examinations as needed.
