Job Description
PBS Contracting is seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter with extensive experience in drywall, ceiling systems, and framing for commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for a dependable professional who understands commercial jobsite coordination, quality standards, and working in both occupied and unoccupied facilities.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently, follow project plans and schedules, and collaborate effectively with supervisors and other trades.
Pay: Experience dependent
Expected hours: 40 per week
Responsibilities
- Perform commercial carpentry work including metal and wood framing, drywall installation and finishing support
- Install and repair drywall, soffits, bulkheads, and architectural features
- Install suspended (ACT) ceilings, grid systems, and specialty ceilings
- Frame walls, ceilings, and openings according to plans and specifications
- Read and interpret construction drawings and project layouts
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, particularly in occupied facilities
- Follow jobsite safety procedures and project schedules
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, project managers, and other trades
Qualifications
- Strong experience with drywall, ceiling systems, and framing
- Ability to converse clearly in English for jobsite communication and safety
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have authorization to work in the United States
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to lift materials, climb ladders/scaffolding, and perform physical job duties safely
