Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Production Equipment)

What your day looks like

You arrive, check the maintenance queue, and head to the floor. One line needs a quick hydraulic adjustment, another machine is due for preventive maintenance, and a CNC station is flagging an electrical fault. You:

• Install, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility systems with a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic skills.
• Handle urgent, unscheduled breakdowns during production and complete scheduled service during machine downtime.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and work orders to plan and execute the right fix.
• Diagnose issues, swap or rebuild components, test thoroughly, and fine‑tune for optimal performance.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance to keep machines, tools, and facility assets running reliably.
• Operate hand and power tools, electric meters, and material‑handling equipment safely and effectively.
• Spot abnormal conditions, defective parts, or risky operations and escalate to supervision as needed.
• Practice 5S: keep work areas safe, clean, and organized.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems on production equipment.
• Tackle basic machinist tasks when required to get production back on track.

Environment & physical expectations

You’ll often work around moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, and elevated noise typical of manufacturing. This is a hands‑on role that involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. You must be able to frequently lift and move items over 75 pounds and have close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regular talking and hearing are required.

Schedule

Full‑time; 8‑hour days, Monday through Friday.

What you bring

• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent education and production maintenance experience.
• 2 years in manufacturing maintenance with strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills.

Preferred

• AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
• Vacuum furnace experience.
• Exposure to PLCs, VFDs, and HVAC.
• 1–2 years of CNC repair (preferred).
• Familiarity with work order systems such as MaintainX or FMX.
