About the Role
Are you the go-to person for getting complex CNC workcells production-ready? In this role, you’ll own the transition from print to stable process—ensuring the first part is right, the run stays on target, and operators have what they need to succeed.
Core Impact
- Prepare CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines for production: fixtures installed, programs loaded/verified, tooling set.
- Apply tool changes and offsets; adjust processes to maintain tight tolerances and repeatable quality.
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and inspection requirements; leverage GD&T principles.
- Execute first-piece and in-process inspections with precision metrology tools.
- Diagnose machining, tooling, and setup issues; implement corrective actions to limit downtime.
- Partner with operators during production to provide coaching and technical support.
- Track tool wear, machine performance, and process consistency; proactively optimize.
- Accurately complete setup sheets and production documentation.
- Uphold safety, quality, and 5S/housekeeping standards.
Must‑Haves
- Hands-on CNC setup experience in a precision machining environment.
- Experience setting up mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and meet tight-tolerance specifications.
- Knowledge of tooling selection, offsets, feeds, and speeds.
- Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting ability.
- Team-oriented yet self-directed; thrives in a fast-paced setting.
- Tool and Die experience preferred.
Preferred Edge
- Tool and Die or related tooling background.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and established inspection workflows.
- Fixture setup, process improvement, and complex machining troubleshooting experience.
- Demonstrated dedication to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
