Job Summary:
The Level 2 Technology Support Technician provides advanced technical support and problem resolution to staff, faculty, and students across the school district. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues, assisting with system administration tasks, and supporting technology projects and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Tier 2 technical support by diagnosing and resolving escalated hardware, software, and network issues

Support and maintain servers, network infrastructure, and district-wide technology systems

Install, configure, and troubleshoot complex technology equipment including switches, routers, wireless access points, and specialized classroom technology

Assist with system administration tasks such as user account management, permissions, and access controls in platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or district-specific systems

Manage device imaging, deployment, and lifecycle processes for computers, tablets, and other technology assets

Coordinate and support technology rollouts, upgrades, and maintenance projects across schools and offices

Develop and document technical procedures, guidelines, and training materials

Provide technical training and mentorship to Level 1 technicians and end users

Collaborate with vendors and third-party support for issue escalation and resolution

Monitor system performance and security, implementing updates and patches as needed

Maintain accurate records of technical activities, asset inventory, and service requests

Follow district policies regarding data security, privacy, and acceptable use
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field preferred

3 years of experience in IT support, preferably in an educational environment

Experience with network infrastructure, system administration, and device management tools
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, ChromeOS, and mobile device management

Experience with Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, or equivalent platforms

Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VLANs

Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues independently

Strong communication and customer service skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and work independently or as part of a team

Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance requirements
Working Conditions:

Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds

Must travel to multiple district sites regularly

May require after-hours or weekend support for system maintenance or emergencies

Background check/fingerprinting as required by state law

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (if job requires travel)
EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the building principal and/or superintendent in conformance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.
