Job Summary:
The Level 1 Technology Support Technician provides first-level technical support to staff, faculty, and students across the school district. This position is responsible for responding to help desk requests, performing basic troubleshooting, maintaining equipment, and assisting in the deployment of technology hardware and software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to technical support requests via ticketing system, phone, email, or in person
Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues on desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, and other school-issued devices
Set up, configure, and maintain computers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment
Assist with installation and updates of approved software and operating systems
Support classroom technology such as interactive whiteboards, document cameras, and audio/visual equipment
Help with student device distribution, maintenance, and basic repairs (e.g., Chromebooks or iPads)
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inventory, and service requests
Escalate complex issues to higher-level support staff or vendors as needed
Provide basic user training and technical guidance to staff and students
Assist with network cable management and device connectivity in classrooms and offices
Follow district policies regarding data security, acceptable use, and confidentiality
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate degree or technical certification in IT-related field preferred
1 year of experience in a technical support role preferred (school district or education environment a plus)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic understanding of Windows, ChromeOS, and iOS devices
Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education or Microsoft 365
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Working Conditions:
Requires ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks (e.g., moving equipment, climbing ladders)
Must be able to travel between school sites within the district
May require occasional after-hours or weekend support
Clearances Required:
Background check/fingerprinting as required by state law
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if job requires travel)
VALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the building principal and/or superintendent in conformance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.

This position shall be considered in all respects “employment at will”.
