OVERVIEW:
The Glacier Club landscaping department is hiring full-time and part-time summer seasonal positions, with 24 - 40 hours per week, starting at $19 per hour. Our season runs April 13th - October 9th (weather dependent). This announcement is for a full-time and/or part-time Perennial Bed/Flower Gardener. As a perennial bed/flower gardener, you will ensure the growth and vibrancy of our plants, flowers, pots, and other garden structures. This position requires a team player, with a can-do attitude and organizational skills. This position works on both weekdays and weekend days, with an exact schedule TBD based upon candidate availability and department needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Perennial bed maintenance • Shrub pruning • Planting annual and perennial plant material • Watering flower planters • Raking beds free of debris • Pulling weeds • Dead heading • Fertilizing • Debris Hauling
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record (Required)
2. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and basic machinery operation skills are preferred
3. Must be able to participate in virtual interviews and virtual training sessions with reliable computer and internet connection
4. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
5. Ability to work in an environment that has constantly changing priorities
6. Includes long periods of walking, standing, bending, and carrying items
7. Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions for long periods of time
8. Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
9. Have a can-do and team-oriented attitude working in a team.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Ninety percent of the workday is spent outdoors in a golf course setting with constantly changing weather conditions including, but not limited to: cold, heat, snow, wet, lightning and thunderstorms. Ninety percent of the workday is spent standing. Constantly lifting, pushing, and pulling objects, weighing up to 100 pounds. Occasionally carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Constantly handling objects and using hearing, near and far acuity, depth perception, color, and field of vision. Ten percent of the time noise levels reach 75-110 decibels. Occasional exposure to fumes, odors and gases. Constant exposure to mechanical hazards.
