ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated seasonal, full-time Gardener to join the Flying Horse Horticulture team. This role will support the installation and maintenance of the Club’s grounds, including annual planters, hanging baskets, decorative wagons, ornamental garden beds, and golf course landscapes. A significant portion of this position will focus on monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, a genuine passion for landscaping, and the ability to work collaboratively to uphold the team’s high standards of quality and efficiency.

• Support the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of irrigation systems, including performing routine inspections, identifying issues, and assisting with troubleshooting to ensure systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
• Assist with the installation and ongoing maintenance of ornamental beds, pots, baskets, wagons, and other landscaped areas across the Club grounds and golf course.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to quality standards.
• Monitor and assist in the fertility management of plants and ensure proper watering requirements are met to maintain plant health.
• Safely and competently operate power equipment used in the daily maintenance of ornamental plants and shrubs.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain safe working practices to ensure personal safety and the safety of others on the grounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, and crawling.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 year experience in horticulture, gardening, or landscaping preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required. 
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, and equipment maintenance preferred.
• Strong physical stamina and flexibility to perform manual tasks.
• A self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills are a must, with the ability to work independently and efficiently without direct supervision.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: 

Reports to Horticulturist for the fulfillment of functions and responsibilities.

Will have contact with various members of Flying Horse staff, HOA personnel, homeowners and other industry related people and is to conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing and operational success of the company.

Flying Horse Resort & Club complies with Colorado labor laws by providing eligible benefits to part-time and seasonal employees. Under the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), employees accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year. Other legally required benefits, such as workers' compensation and unemployment insurance, also apply.
