Job Title:  Gardener (Seasonal)

Pay Rate: $20.66 / hour

We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Gardener to support the daily care and maintenance of landscaped grounds, ornamental plantings, and vegetable growing areas. This role involves hands‑on work planting, pruning, watering, operating small equipment, and assisting with a variety of landscape and grounds projects. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, follows safe work practices, and takes pride in providing professional, friendly service while working independently or as part of a team.

What you will be doing:

• Plant annual and perennial flowers and fall bulbs, water, fertilize, dead-head and perform other duties for maintaining annual and perennial flower beds.
• Assist with maintaining vegetables plantings in the vegetable greenhouse and farm including watering, weeding, planting and cleaning.
• Maintain ornamental shrub plantings and beds. Perform light pruning and trimming, assist with new plantings, clean and weed beds, water, fertilize, apply mulch.
• Operate cultivation equipment for preparing landscape areas for plantings.
• Operate utility vehicles and other small equipment including hedge trimmers, hand and backpack blowers, rototillers, and sprayers.
• Prune trees and shrubs utilizing proper trimming and pruning principles.
• Assist with various landscape projects including irrigation and drainage, applying soil amendments, tree staking and wildlife protection.
• Housekeeping of golf and grounds building facilities.
• Work individually or in a team situation.
• Always adhere to practicing safe work habits and golf and grounds policies and procedures.
• Deliver courteous, professional, and friendly service to fellow employees and customers.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

What we are looking for:

• High school diploma or GED.  Previous experience as a Gardener and/or working or maintaining a Golf Course preferred.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Any employee driving a Broadmoor vehicle must be 18 years or old
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) with a work environment that may be indoors and outdoors at times.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and non-potable water. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the environment is loud.
