Responsibilities
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Assess each pet’s condition to identify any health concerns or behavioral issues requiring special attention
- Handle dogs safely using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, stations, and work areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide after-care advice
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently to maximize workflow and minimize wait times
- Assist with pet handling, training support, or veterinary-related tasks as needed to support overall animal care
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of dog handling techniques
- Knowledge of animal care practices, including pet grooming, animal restraint, and basic health assessments
- Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles is a plus, especially if familiar with veterinary procedures or veterinary experience
- Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting) such as grooming equipment or large dogs safely and comfortably
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with pet owners and team members
- Animal handling skills across various breeds and temperaments, including kennel experience or pet sitting background
- Strong attention to detail combined with energetic enthusiasm for working with animals daily
