Responsibilities
- Provide professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs with care using animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Perform pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming tasks with precision and compassion
- Assist with dog training and behavioral guidance to promote calm and cooperative grooming sessions
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming procedures, aftercare tips, and any health concerns observed during grooming
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming area and properly sanitize tools and equipment after each use
- Support kennel cleaning, pet sitting, and general animal care duties as needed to ensure a safe environment
Skills
- Strong dog handling skills with experience in animal restraint and companion animal handling
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience is a plus for identifying health issues during grooming
- Background in veterinary assistant work or veterinary experience enhances your ability to recognize signs of illness or injury
- Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners confidently and clearly
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to handle larger dogs or equipment safely
- Experience in pet coat styling, pet grooming, pet nail trimming, animal care, and animal handling techniques
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a genuine love for animals and their well-being
