Job Summary
The HR Generalist will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations, recruitment and human resources policies, programs, and practices by performing the following duties:
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource in strategic and tactical approaches to HR in areas including employee development, employee relations, policy and procedure development, training, compensation and benefits and performance evaluation.
- Assist managers with appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, coaching them regarding performance concerns, attendance, and other opportunities for improvement
- Identify, investigate, and resolve issues of employee concern or conflict in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Maintain detailed and accurate account of investigation with timely memorialization of the notes and supporting documents.
- Responsible for some recruiting: recruiting, screening and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external).
- Recommend HR best practices to maximize performance, productivity, efficiency and morale across the organization.
- Strive to improve metrics by re-evaluating and changing processes, as necessary, to result in constant progression in HR practices to support the organization.
- Develop a strong relationship with all levels of management, employees and other Hardscapes and Masonry business units by effectively assisting and coaching managers, supervisors and front-line staff on employment related topics and issues
- Provide internal human resources expertise to managers and supervisors in the areas of performance management, organizational development, training and development of leaders and their teams to enhance cross-functional effectiveness and support Hardscapes and Masonry’s initiatives.
- Keep abreast of new trends in the HR field in order to maximize attainment of established plan objectives.
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related subject matters and resolve issues that may arise
- Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Conduct exit interviews analyze data and make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Maintain an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company’s integrity standards.
- Participate in staff meetings and other meetings with respective business units.
- Other duties assigned.
Minimum Education
Required: 4 year/Bachelors degree Specialty/major: Business, Human Resources, or related field
- Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ professional HR experience, preferably at a Generalist level with a high degree of responsibility in recruitment and employee relations
- Demonstrated experience providing internal consulting to supervisors and managers on employee issues related to performance and development, including succession planning
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities in a very fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work with limited direction to make decisions.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Candidate must have strong interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills with attention to detail and be prepared to “roll up their sleeves” to get the job done.
- Ability to travel 10-20% to field locations across the US.
Preferred:
Previous experience working and/or supporting sales and manufacturing business segments.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
