JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Public Safety Operations Support Specialist
Salary Schedule: CLSJ
Department: School Police Department – Safety & Security Division

Reports To: Chief of Police or Designee
Work Schedule: 260/8hrs
Grade/Level: F-1
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Primary Function: Provides administrative and operational support including evidence management, GCIC TAC compliance, digital video evidence handling, dispatch communications, and departmental administrative functions.
Ensures full compliance with Georgia law, district policies, CJIS Security Policy, and accreditation standards.
Working Conditions: Physical Demands:
Office and secure evidence storage settings.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Exposure to sensitive or confidential materials.
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
Experience in law enforcement administrative support, GCIC, evidence handling or a related field preferred.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
Ability to obtain and maintain GCIC certification.
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage evidence intake, storage, documentation, and chain-of-custody procedures.
Conduct audits and maintain evidence integrity in accordance with accreditation standards.
Support GCIC TAC responsibilities including certification tracking and compliance monitoring.
Retrieve, redact, and manage digital video evidence from district systems.
Coordinate communications via department-issued phones and P25 radio system, or designated mechanisms.
Maintain departmental records, reports, and logs.
Process timesheets and manage supply procurement.
Support audit readiness and accreditation documentation.
Must pass background check and fingerprinting.
Must maintain confidentiality of all records.
Subject to district policies and procedures.
Dispatch & Communications
Coordinate intra- and interdepartmental communications.
Monitor and relay critical information via P25 radio system, or designated methods.
Maintain communication logs in accordance with retention policies.
Support incident communications and after-action documentation.
Comply with Paulding County School District Board Policies related to safety, records, and confidentiality.
Open Records & Juvenile Records Handling
Coordinate Open Records requests with district leadership and legal counsel.
Ensure proper redaction of protected information including student and juvenile data.
Maintain confidentiality of juvenile records in accordance with Georgia law.
Document all records releases and ensure legal authorization.
