Business Development Director – Contract Recruitment (Financial Services)

Our client is a premier recruitment firm with over 30 years of success in Financial Services. The firm specializes in placing mid- to senior-level professionals across Back Office, Middle Office, Technology, and related functions for Banks, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Investment Firms.
The Position
The firm is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive the growth of its Contract Recruitment division. Leading a team of 5 Account Executives, this role will be responsible for scaling the business through hiring, training, and developing high-performing sales and delivery talent, while penetrating new and existing client markets.
This is a leadership position focused on sales strategy, team growth, and revenue generation—not individual desk production. The Business Development Director will design and execute the division’s 1 / 3 / 5-year business plans, driving diversification and client expansion to align with the firm’s overall growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, onboard, and develop top sales and recruiting talent to scale the team
- Build, train, and mentor a high-performance sales organization with clear KPIs and growth targets
- Lead go-to-market strategy and identify new business opportunities across Financial Services clients
- Drive client acquisition and expansion strategies in collaboration with operations and delivery teams
- Set and execute multi-year business plans for the division, ensuring revenue targets and market share growth
- Establish best practices in sales execution, client engagement, and account development
- Provide leadership and motivation to foster a competitive, growth-oriented sales culture
Candidate Profile
- 10 years of proven success in staffing/recruitment, ideally with experience in Financial Services contract recruitment
- Demonstrated track record of building, leading, and scaling multi-million-dollar sales/recruitment teams
- Strong leadership skills with experience hiring, training, and developing revenue producers
- Strategic thinker with the ability to design and execute business plans focused on sales growth and market penetration
- Strong client-facing experience and ability to build long-term relationships at senior levels
Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
