HVAC Service Technician
Position Summary
Patriot Heating & Cooling is seeking a dependable, customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining residential heating and cooling systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities
● Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, humidifiers, air cleaners, thermostats, and related equipment.
● Accurately identify system malfunctions and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
● Perform seasonal maintenance inspections to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable system operation.
● Explain repair options and maintenance recommendations clearly and professionally to homeowners.
● Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
● Perform equipment start-up, operational testing, and performance verification following repairs.
● Maintain accurate service records, invoices, and job documentation.
● Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and local building codes.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
● Safely operate company vehicles and properly maintain tools and equipment.
● Communicate effectively with dispatch, office staff, and fellow team members to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
● Represent Patriot Heating & Cooling with professionalism and integrity on every service call.
Qualifications
● Preferred 2 years of residential HVAC service experience.
● Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve HVAC system issues efficiently.
● Solid understanding of electrical controls, refrigeration systems, gas furnaces, heat pumps, airflow, and ventilation systems.
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
● Ability to explain technical information in a clear, friendly, and professional manner.
● Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
● Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
● Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions.
● Ability to pass a background check and employment drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
● EPA Section 608 Certification.
● NATE Certification or willingness to obtain.
● Experience servicing high-efficiency furnaces, heat pumps, communicating systems, and indoor air quality products.
● Experience using digital diagnostic tools and mobile service applications.
Work Schedule & Expectations
● Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, starting between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM and ending between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on service demand.
● Overtime may be required during peak heating and cooling seasons.
● Participation in an on-call rotation is expected to provide emergency service for our customers.
● Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet customer needs.
