Purpose of Position:
- Performs minor repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment.
- Routine maintenance of equipment, facilities, and grounds.
- Performs moves, set-ups and breakdowns for events as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform general building maintenance and construction including carpentry, painting, electrical/plumbing repairs, and parts replacements.
- Move/arrange furniture in office/classroom; set up/take down tables and chairs for special events/conferences as needed or requested.
- Work with necessary tools and equipment, including motorized vehicles and farm type equipment, in performance of daily maintenance and operation of the college campus buildings and grounds.
- Perform general and preventive maintenance on college equipment, including weed eaters, chain saws, sidewalk edger’s, push mowers, riding mowers, tractors, and snow equipment.
- Maintain all college cars and trucks in good running condition.
- In appropriate season, maintain lawns by fertilizing, spraying, mowing, weed eating and raking as needed.
- Weed flower and shrubbery beds; prune trees, shrubs and hedges; edge sidewalks and parking lots; repair and replace fencing; and perform snow and ice removal as needed.
- Drive college vehicles to area vendors for supplies and materials.
- Perform college-wide trash removal.
- Log-in shipments received and deliver to appropriate areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Basic knowledge in use of power tools, and equipment
- Education, training and/or work experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
