What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vigil volunteers position at Pathways Hospice & Palliative Care?
Our compassionate and well-trained volunteers work alongside our professional staff and are a vital part of the care and comfort we provide. Volunteers offer comfort, support, non-medical care and moments of joy. By nature, they are good listeners who are dependable and have a strong desire to reach out with love and concern to others.
Volunteering is a rewarding way to "give back," and a great way to connect with members of your community. Hours are flexible and you can volunteer as much or as little time as you choose in a geographical area convenient to you. Training is provided.
Vigil volunteers provide comfort and peace of mind during the patient's final hours when circumstances prevent family members from being present near the end of their loved one's journey.
