What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vet-to-Vet volunteers position at Pathways Hospice & Palliative Care?
Our compassionate and well-trained volunteers work alongside our professional staff and are a vital part of the care and comfort we provide. Volunteers offer comfort, support, non-medical care and moments of joy. By nature, they are good listeners who are dependable and have a strong desire to reach out with love and concern to others.
Volunteering is a rewarding way to "give back," and a great way to connect with members of your community. Hours are flexible and you can volunteer as much or as little time as you choose in a geographical area convenient to you. Training is provided.
Vet-to-Vet volunteers are active military personnel or veterans who have a unique ability to relate and connect with our veteran patients, providing valuable companionship and one-on-one support. They also have the opportunity to participate in our annual We Honor Veterans event, or to help us honor the service of our veteran patients throughout the year.
