Qualifications
- NJ Elementary Certificate in Physical Education and Health
- Hold and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications
- Hold and maintain, if assigned responsibilities for teaching swimming, an American Red Cross water safety certificate registered with the New Jersey State Department of Education
- Have experience in teaching and working with students in the field of comprehensive health and physical education, unless entering teaching from an alternative certification program
- Excellent classroom management
- Hold a valid driver's license with no serious violations
- Possess interpersonal skills with students, staff, parents, administrators, and community
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary
- Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications
- Diagnose student strengths and weakness and match those skills with appropriate techniques and materials
- Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills
- Knowledge of NJ Curriculum standards
