Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fleet Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting the company's operational goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of machinery and tools, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep our fleet in top condition.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues related to transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, electrical systems, and air brakes
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex vehicle systems effectively
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and maintenance logs for all fleet vehicles
- Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacement, and general equipment repairs
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing to ensure proper functioning before returning vehicles to service
Requirements
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or automotive technician.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, and automotive electrical systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical systems
- Experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, or similar heavy-duty vehicles
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
