Duties
- Install, repair, and replace tires on a variety of vehicles, including passenger cars and light trucks, utilizing hand tools and power tools efficiently.
- Conduct wheel alignments and perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify mechanical issues related to tires and suspension systems.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, fluid replacements, and minor mechanical repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Assist customers by explaining services, recommending tire options, and providing exceptional customer service to build trust and loyalty.
- Use automotive service equipment to perform brake inspections, rotate tires, balance wheels, and conduct other essential maintenance tasks.
- Lift heavy tires and vehicle components safely during service procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
Requirements
- Prior dealership or automotive service experience is highly preferred.
- Proven mechanic experience with a solid understanding of standard passenger car operation and automotive diagnostics.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including brakes, suspension, steering, and fluid replacement procedures.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, alignment equipment, and automotive diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform automotive fluid replacements such as oil changes efficiently.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about vehicle needs and services.
- Capable of performing minor mechanical repairs including tire service, brake inspections, and basic maintenance tasks.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of automotive repair standards and safety regulations is essential.
