Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator supports and maintains a safe working environment in a production facility. This role assists with implementing and enforcing safety programs, conducting safety audits, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily safety assessments on the production floor
- Address safety questions and concerns from employees
- Investigate accidents and near misses; implement corrective actions
- Create weekly safety communications and safety incentive initiatives
- Assist with Workers’ Compensation and OSHA compliance
- Manage safety assessments, follow‑ups, and audits (HSEQ program)
- Assist with safety training, orientations, and refresher courses
- Support the Safety Committee and emergency drills
- Assist with audiograms, fit testing, and respiratory evaluations
- Coordinate with outside agencies and contractors
- Translate safety documents to Spanish as needed
- Perform administrative and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing facility
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
- Dependable, detail‑oriented, and professional
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Regular presence on the production floor and in an office setting
- Exposure to noise, temperature changes, wet areas, and slick floors
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform physical movements such as bending, climbing, and reaching
Pay: $27.50 per hour
