Pricing Manager – Transportation & Logistics
Position Summary
The Pricing Manager leads the development and execution of pricing strategies across contract and spot business. This role is responsible for overseeing the RFP process, managing pricing tools and data, and driving profitability through market-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is both analytical and strategic, with the ability to lead a team, influence cross-functional partners, and ensure pricing accuracy in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end RFP process, partnering with Sales to deliver competitive, accurate, and timely pricing submissions.
- Develop and execute pricing strategies for contract and spot opportunities, aligned with market conditions and company profitability goals.
- Oversee spot pricing automation tools, ensuring rate logic, system accuracy, and real-time responsiveness to market changes.
- Partner with Procurement and Sourcing teams to define target lanes, capacity strategies, and cost benchmarks.
- Maintain ownership of pricing data within the Logistics Management System (LMS), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
- Evaluate and optimize pricing and logistics technology platforms; manage vendor relationships and provide strategic input.
- Review and support contract negotiations in collaboration with Legal and Insurance partners; ensure proper documentation and compliance.
- Support new customer onboarding by coordinating pricing, documentation, and system setup across internal teams.
- Manage rate uploads and maintenance for awarded business; serve as a key resource for Accounting and audit-related inquiries.
- Oversee fuel program setup, calculations, and issue resolution in partnership with Accounting and Operations.
- Produce and analyze pricing, sales, and profitability reports using Business Intelligence tools; deliver actionable insights to leadership.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to Executive Management on pricing performance and market trends.
- Lead cross-functional projects focused on process improvement, cost optimization, and revenue growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance-related pricing considerations, including coverage requirements for specialized freight.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pricing analysts, fostering a high-performance and accountable culture.
- Review and validate team outputs to ensure pricing accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company strategy.
- Establish and standardize pricing methodologies, tools, and documentation practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in pricing processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members, sharing best practices and market expertise.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain pricing/operations.
- Proven experience developing pricing strategies and managing RFP processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and related analytical tools.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze margins, costs, and profitability drivers.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities and a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
