Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical repair, must have at least 3 years of experience in servicing small engines, generators, and various types of equipment and 3 years of diesel mechanic experience. This role requires a commitment to providing excellent customer service while ensuring that all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Duties
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, pressure washers, and other small equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug inspections and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
- Assist with fleet vehicle maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Maintain records of services, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and landscape equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues
- Maintain service records and repair documentation
- Ensure equipment is safe and ready for daily operations
- Assist with loading/unloading and occasional field service calls if needed
- Keep shop and work areas clean and organized
Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working on diesel engines and mid-size equipment required
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and small engines preferred
- Ability to diagnose issues independently
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL is a plus, but not required
- Must be dependable, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
