Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Advisory
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of business and individual tax clients
- Provide strategic tax planning, consulting, and compliance services
- Identify opportunities to deliver additional value and advisory solutions
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the year and act as a trusted business advisor
- Lead complex tax engagements and ensure exceptional client service
Technical Tax Leadership
- Review complex individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and multi-entity tax returns
- Research and resolve sophisticated tax matters
- Provide guidance and oversight on technical tax issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Drive quality control and risk management across engagements
Team Development & Leadership
- Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals at various levels
- Review work prepared by staff and senior accountants
- Provide ongoing feedback, training, and career development support
- Assist with staffing, resource allocation, and workload management
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment
Practice Growth & Business Development
- Participate in networking and business development initiatives
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and service offerings
- Assist with proposal development and new business opportunities
- Support firm growth objectives and strategic initiatives
Operational & Financial Management
- Manage engagement budgets, realization, utilization, and project profitability
- Monitor workflow and ensure timely completion of client deliverables
- Assist leadership with practice planning and operational improvements
- Contribute to the development of firm processes, efficiencies, and best practices
Qualifications
- Active CPA license required
- 8 years of public accounting tax experience preferred
- Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client relationships
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing staff
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Business development experience is a plus
