Position Summary
The Iron Horse Music Hall is seeking an energetic, dependable, and team-oriented Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced live music venue while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen. Successful candidates take pride in their work, communicate well with teammates, and thrive under pressure.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Complete daily food preparation before service.
- Expedite food orders by coordinating with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure accurate, timely, and well-presented meals.
- Maintain quality, consistency, and portion control.
- Work efficiently during busy concerts and events.
- Set up, stock, and break down cooking stations.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout each shift.
- Label, date, rotate, and properly store food products.
- Monitor inventory and communicate product needs to the Kitchen Manager.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing storage areas.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service.
- Support special events and private functions as needed.
- Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous line cook or prep cook experience preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during concerts and special events.
