Position Summary:
Parkway is seeking to hire an Analyst/Associate with 1-5 years of post-undergraduate experience to be an integral member of our growing team. As an important member of the investment team, you will play a key role in the investment process, where you will be responsible for evaluating new investments, underwriting and structuring investments, supporting the due diligence process and ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies.
You will work closely with the firm’s Partners, Principals and Vice Presidents. You will have the opportunity to work with portfolio company executives (CEOs, CFOs, etc.) in support of Parkway’s role on the board of directors of portfolio companies.
Qualifications:
An ideal candidate will have 1 to 5 years of total work experience with a preference for backgrounds in private credit, leveraged lending, private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting or commercial banking.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a major in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related financial discipline with an outstanding record of academic achievement.
Excellent organization, communication, and research skills with the ability to succinctly express and present ideas. Ability to compile, analyze, and present company and industry information.
Demonstrated experience or a strong passion for investing, financial analysis, and business strategy.
Financial modeling experience with superior analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset and dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership.
Meticulous attention to detail.
This candidate must thrive in an entrepreneurial private equity culture with the ability to work in less structured environments with minimal oversight.
Position Responsibilities:
Helping to source transaction opportunities from equity sponsors, other credit funds, senior lenders and investment bankers.
Supporting all aspects of the investment process including analyzing, evaluating and executing subordinated debt and equity investment opportunities
Conducting due diligence and analytical work on potential investments, including participating in management presentations of prospect companies
Researching investment target’s competitive position, market size and industry dynamics
Conducting financial analysis to assess companies’ historical financials, unit economics, customer-by-customer details, pipeline and backlog details, customer utilization data, customer churn analyses and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
Building financial projection models, investment return models and conducting sensitivity analysis on model outputs
Developing financial analyses, reports and presentations to facilitate making investment and business decisions
Quickly develop a sense of what makes an appropriate Parkway Capital investment opportunity
Prepare for, participate and document calls with third party diligence providers, including legal, accounting and industry specific consultants
Assisting with the preparation of investment memos and supporting the presentation of investment recommendations to the firm’s investment committee
Ongoing monitoring of portfolio company performance including creating and tracking company financial performance and KPIs
Assisting Parkway’s CFO with SBIC portfolio reporting requirements
Assist with the preparation of Limited Partner Advisory Board presentations and Parkway’s annual meeting of Limited Partners
