Buyer/Expediter
Parkinson Technologies Inc., a growing manufacturer of winding and plastic processing equipment, has an immediate opening for a Buyer/Expediter. The individual will report to the Purchasing Manager and will be a hands-on, detail-oriented contributor to our Purchasing department.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with vendors to obtain quotes, place orders, and negotiate pricing and terms of purchases.
- Assist in monitoring supplier performance
- Work with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoice/receipt discrepancies
- Expedite delivery of goods and returns for credit/replacement
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience buying production materials in a manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills. MRP / ERP software experience desired
- Strong negotiating skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to plan ahead and be proactive
- Must have strong organization and follow-up skills.
- A fast learner with a positive attitude.
