Intellectual Property Legal Assistant (Patent & Trademark) - HYBRID
Paramount Legal is recruiting for an experienced IP Legal Assistant to support a busy intellectual property practice at a well-established law firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file U.S. patent and trademark documents with the USPTO
- Draft and finalize correspondence with clients and foreign associates
- Maintain and organize IP portfolios, files, and document management systems
- Track deadlines and coordinate with docketing to ensure timely filings
- Assist with assignments, reporting letters, and general IP-related documentation
- Handle billing support, including time entry, invoice editing, and expense processing
- Open new matters and support overall administrative and case management functions
Qualifications:
- 5 years of legal assistant experience, preferably in intellectual property
- Strong knowledge of USPTO rules and filing procedures
- Experience with IP docketing systems and document management platforms (iManage preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal billing systems (Intapp or similar)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Typing speed of 70 WPM preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate is a plus
