Production Manager

Founded in 2003, Paragon Manufacturing Corp was built to close the gap between design intent and full-scale production. We operate in a structured manufacturing environment where safety, quality, accountability, and dependable execution matter.

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager who can lead people, strengthen production flow, and bring the day-to-day discipline needed to consistently meet customer commitments.

Position Overview

The Production Manager leads the daily execution and performance of the Production department.

Safety is the first priority, followed by producing quality work right the first time. This role is responsible for production scheduling, labor and capacity planning, workflow, employee development, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who stays connected to the production floor, develops people, addresses problems early, and creates accountability while treating employees fairly and respectfully.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead a safe, organized production environment and ensure established safety practices and procedures are consistently followed.
• Make first-pass quality a daily priority by reinforcing established processes, workmanship standards, and quality requirements.
• Plan and manage production schedules, labor, materials, equipment, and capacity to support customer commitments and operational priorities.
• Monitor production status, backlog, WIP, and schedule performance; take action when jobs are delayed or at risk.
• Identify bottlenecks and constraints in the value stream and work across departments to improve production flow.
• Communicate capacity constraints, material shortages, quality concerns, workload conflicts, and other production risks early enough for corrective action.
• Ensure employees have the approved drawings, work instructions, materials, tools, equipment, and information needed to perform their work correctly.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, and other departments to resolve issues affecting production and delivery.
• Maintain accurate production records and appropriate control of production documentation, tooling, consumables, and shop supplies.
• Identify and implement practical improvements that strengthen safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and consistency.
• Set clear expectations for production employees and provide coaching, feedback, recognition, and accountability.
• Develop and maintain initial training and cross-training plans to strengthen employee capability and production coverage.
• Develop leadership capability within the production team to support daily operations and future growth.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and employee development for the Production department.
• Address employee concerns, performance issues, and workplace conflicts promptly, fairly, and professionally.
• Maintain a productive working environment that supports communication, teamwork, engagement, morale, and strong housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years of progressive manufacturing experience with demonstrated production leadership responsibility.
• Experience directly supervising and developing production employees.
• Experience managing production schedules, labor, capacity, workflow, WIP, and competing priorities.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Experience identifying production constraints and driving problems through resolution.
• Strong practical problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and other functions.
• Ability to set expectations, coach employees, and address performance issues fairly and consistently.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional manufacturing, operations, or leadership education or training preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a structured manufacturing environment with established production and quality processes.
• Experience improving production flow, first-pass quality, productivity, or schedule performance.
• Experience developing training and cross-training programs.
• Experience with continuous-improvement methods and production performance metrics.

This position may involve access to technical data, products, or information subject to U.S. export-control laws and regulations, including ITAR and/or EAR. Employment is contingent upon the applicant's ability to access such information as required for the position in compliance with applicable U.S. export-control laws and regulations.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is an on-site leadership position that requires regular presence throughout the production environment.

• Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in and move throughout a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring appropriate manual dexterity.
• Visual and communication abilities appropriate for reviewing production work, documentation, and workplace conditions.
• Ability to safely perform material-handling activities within established lifting zones, work practices, and frequency requirements.
